1933 Ford Engine Question

To all that have answered a huge thanks. The knowledge base that exists here is fantastic. I greatly appreciate it.

"Also a 36 lb block will have a hole about 1/2 inch in the bottom of the recess in the front of the block."

"the letters " LB" & a hole in a casting ear sticking out of the block"

I've had 3 "LB" engines. None have been stamped. None had the hole. There are a lot of posts on Ford Barn about "LB" engines ... conclusion posted many times is that you have to look inside. It's been suggested that Canadian engines had the hole.

Also, swap meet scammers have been known to add the stamp.
