Has anyone here on the barn restored a "complete" inspection cover. I forgot to take a picture of mine BUT mine is "complete" with the screw on cap and it appears there was some sort of "wick" that was in the tube leading into the bellhousing area under the cap on mine. ALSO what finish was the screw on cap Black or Cad Plated as well as the cover itself Ford Green or Black??? I Can post pictures of my actual inspection cover this evening but wanted to post something for visual purposes even though the one pictured is missing the tube and screw on cap at the top.

S-2 for the screws and lock washers, black paint for the cover, and S-2 or plain for cup. To be on the safe side, I use a permanently-lubricated clutch release bearing and the above parts are for appearance sake.

That cover, before "improvements" by some others of questionable artistic skills, looks like it is an artifact of prehistoric Aztec or Myan origin. (Save it, It could be worth something.

To switch to the later sealed bearing the fork for the throwout also needs to be changed to the later style 48-7515 as well as the throwout hub.
