1932 Wire Wheels

I am trying to locate two 18” wire wheels for my 1932 pickup. Does anyone know where I can find a pair? I live in Arkansas.

Thanks,

Mike.

Click The Swap meet at the top of page and place a wanted ad. Lots of them on EBAY also.Be careful as some do not spin true.

For this current roadster project I was very picky. I passed on several pairs because of bent spokes, worn bolt holes, rust pits and being crooked. I was having them widened on the inside 2 inches and wanted the best I could find. I think I gave $300 for the pair plus the ride.

I would only shop local so you can see them and check for runout. Plus there is the shipping costs you will save. Inquire at local clubs. Any swap meets in your area?

Thanks. I will check eBay.

I agree. My biggest issue is finding a pair that have reasonable runout. Not quite sure how to get a runout measurement on the tire mounting surfaces long distance. Would definitely like to get something local.

We have 2 swap meets a year here. They are not that well attended. There is a Model A club in Little Rock, but that is about it. Do you know of a club list for Early V8s?

Check the V-8 Club website ,www.earlyfordv8.org. In the left menu you can find listings for all the V-8 Club's regional groups listed by state.

Here's my opinion on wire wheels, I won't pay over 20 bucks for an unknown wheel.
Reason is, you may buy 5 to get one good one. I just sold over a hundred wire wheels at my auction last year. I kinda have a wheel fetish...buy em when I can.

So, The T and A wheels, it takes 5 to get one good one, The v8 era they are stronger, maybe 2 out of 5, and the 35 16"s are pretty good, maybe 3 out of 5.

This pertains to swap meet, garage sale , junk yard , ebay buys where it has not been spun on a spindle to know its true so you know what you bought.

A "known and tested " wheel should worth decent money, but not the thing on a pile at the swap meet. Again, 20 bucks max for the unknown...for me
