1932 schooling needed

The flange going from the torque tube to the center section is round on the early rear end,... and scalloped between the bolts on a late,... If memory serves me right.

Harms way is correct. Also, the B rear used on most '32's has radius rod brackets on axle housings that are PARALLEL to axis of car, with radius rods then bent to angle in. On the 18 rear used at the very end of production (and '33-4) the radius rod brackets angle in, allowing for an essentially straight radius rod.

*Attention*

For those of you that don't know him, Bruce has been a wealth of knowledge on the HAMB for many years,... Especially about the 1932 Ford,... I have found him a valuable resource,.... He actually should be considered right there with Dave Rehore & Vince Falter,...

He will give you a "Factual" no nonsense responce with information you can totally trust.

I,... on the other hand, am one of those knuckle head Hot Rod type. :D

Dennis,
I need to clarify something right here and now!
I am in no way in the same class as Bruce and Dave regarding 32's.

It is true that I am an enthusiast, and very interested in deuce authenticity and details, but in no way do I have the depth of knowledge or experience possessed by Dave and Bruce (as well as many others).

Both Bruce and Dave are inspirations to me, and are a wealth of no nonsense facts you can bank on. That we agree on!
Myself, on the other hand, .......
Vince

Vince, I don't care what you say - you know your '32s dude!:)

Mike

Also if you run the early and more common 'B' rear end you can order 3.54 gears from Mac's or a Model A supplier. The 'B' rear seems to do fine behind any flathead or even a small block if you drive reasonablly but not if you dump the clutch....

Thanks for the quick answers. The rear end I have must be an early one due to the round flange 'tween TT and banjo....also has the radius rods run parallel to the frame at their mounting point on the bells; then they angle forward to attach to the TT.

Thanks to all.
