1932 gas gauge connectors

I have to replace the air line for the fuel gauge on my ‘32. I purchased cooper line with female 5/16 - 24 brass connectors. However, when I tried to turn on the connector, the threads bind after about two turns. The tread size seems to be a little different on the gas tank and fuel gauge male connector. Does anyone know a solution to my problem. I have looked everywhere I know for connectors that work but have not been successful.

Mike McKennett (spelling) in Oregon. i think his company is restoration & reproductions (503) 257-2433

I second Robert's recommendation. Mike has the correct fittings. (Robert, that's the correct spelling of his name and the company name is correct also.)

Over the years corrosion has affected the threads on the male end as well as the threaded nut.I have had to chase the threads on all the senders and gauges plus the nut.Nothing wrong with your threaded nuts.Run a thread chaser over the threads on the sender and the gauge . No need to spend more money unless you need thread chasers..I have done this many many times.straight- eight .com also has the correct fittings separately should you need to replace it.
Here are pics of one(33-34) I have recently worked on. Send me a PM if you have a question.

Deuce Lover helped me with this same issue last year. The nut from Straight Eight did not seem to fit. Worked perfectly after I chased the threads on the gauge. Here is a picture of the thread chasing set I bought.
