1932 Fuel Tank

My fuel tank indicator works but I don't trust the measurement when the tank gets to a low level. If I place a stick in the tank to measure the fuel level, does anyone know what the lowest level is the absolute minimum and still get proper in take to the fuel pump? Thanks, Ed

Get your tank low. Go for a ride with a good sealed gas can and your stick. When you run out of gas, stick it and then you'll have the minimum.

Measured at the fuel sender mount surface the depth of the fuel tank is 8 1/4" (8.25"). The fuel sender unit from mount surface to the bottom of the pick up tube is 7 3/4" (7.75"). The difference is one half inch, (gasket not included). So the absolute lowest level is one half inch above the bottom of the tank and still be able to get fuel pick up, below that level it is unlikely to get proper intake to the fuel pump. Keep in mind this is theoretical, on flat level ground, no slouching. Hope this helps.
