1932 Fordor V/8 value

32 Fordor.JPG

Being in the body shop business this car appeals to for two reasons, the body is soooo nice, and it's a V/8 32.

I value a car by asking myself this question - could I duplicate, or build one just like it for the same money ? The answer is NO in this case. I just thought I'd put it out there and get others advice. We shook hands on a deal today.

That's awesome!! What Lawson said x3

That doesn't look like original paint to me, but I could be wrong. I would therefore check that body real close. Also determine what is original and what is repop.

Back in 68 or 69 (I know) bought a 32 4 dr 4cyl in immaculate condition for about $600, drove it back and forth from Newport RI to Bristol CT on weekends (100 miles). Sold it about 9-10 months later for about $900 and was quite pleased. How times have changed.

Was painted back in the 50's. No repo parts, it's original with just 40,783 original miles as of today. The interior is all original.

What is the curb weight of this car ?

According to The 1932 Ford Book by D.Rehor if its a deluxe 4cyl ,2432lbs.Add 130 for the V8.You might want to purchase that book since you now have a 32.Great reference and answers to all the questions you may have.

Not looking to flip it. It's hard to pass up such a great body. Lowered, steelies, and juice brakes would help it out.

Farley, The money you invest in those upgrades will detract from the value of your car by a factor of 10. Seriously, it will no longer be original, and won't be a hot rod either. For the sake of all that is Henry, please consider preserving the car as original.

It was 1966....picked up this '32 4dr Deluxe sedan ( side mounts, rear luggage rack, etc ) for $15.00. The original V8 was on the ground, and I left that 'ole junk' motor there #%@#$....it was 'only' a 4dr, but I loved it. In time, it disappeared...don't ask....( but I still have that girl ) and all I can say, for the price and if you like this car...buy it. It's a whole cheaper that saying " I should have bought it"...for the rest of your life. Robert

I would certainly stick with Lawson and many others that a car like that should stay original . Although cars that have had the "rod" treatment seem to bring much more $$$. My own feelings are that a four dr. sedan is lowest on a desirable list and going up the chain to roadster, phaeton, cabriolet 3 win, 5 win etc. Everyone has their own preferences. KEEP IT STOCK, please ? :D

A few more pictures

Next week we will carefully polish the paint and clean the glass.

A lot of the bad mouthing about the 4 door sedans came years ago when everyone wanted a roadster (or at least a coupe). As we age and have kids and grand kids the 4 door sedans have become more popular. Ask someone if it is easy to find one and the answer ail be yes. Try and find one yourself and it is not so easy (don't ask how I know).

I appreciate this car because of it's originality. By that I mean it is not a pieced together, made-up 32 Ford. Not much has changed since it left the factory, and it has 40,783 original miles. The sheetmetal is outstanding, not a patch on this body !

Farley's34,
I watched this whole thread from the beginning, glad you got a good car at a fair price.
I too have a Fordor, (34) that's bone stock except for glass pack duals. Even has mechanical brakes and a 6 volt electrical system.
I take it on national AACA tours and if there's a rod run close enough to drive to, I'll take it there. I'm sure it gets more attention there than the jellybean version of it in a street rod. The intersting thing is I'm welcome and my car is enjoyed by all for what it is. I too have built street rods, but with the Early Ford V8's, stock is still special.

After 2 full days of carefully cleaning and polishing she looks like a different car ! Very happy with the results.
