1932 Ford short bumper Brackets

If buying repro items be aware they are not made of spring steel, so if you have a minor bingle they will deform and possibly cause a dent in the bodywork.

I have even seen repro's made where the manufacterer boasted he had machined the edge of the mild steel to the same radius as the originals. He didn't realise that spring steel in flat bar form comes with radiused edges.
 
I'm looking for a set of front and rear short polished stainless steel braces to suit my 32 Tudor, who sells them. Does anyone have a contact for Bob in the post above?

Bumper Bracket Bob!! I've got a pair of his shorty brackets on my Sedan Delivery.
Note that the shorty brackets do not drop down like the stock brackets, so they raise the bumper about an inch and a half.
 
Steve/IL.....interesting comment about the bumper sitting 1 1/2" higher than normal. These modified parts are always full of surprises. Since they are only repros, it would be interesting to compare profiles and modify them to have the bumper sit in a lower position...have you ever considered this?
Also, Drake states that his bumper brackets have the edge radius, not like his competitors. More investigation needed before buying......... Robert
 
Bumper Bob's rear bumper arms are a direct reproduction of the original sedan delivery bumper arms. Also they have the radiused edgtes as original. I have a set on my delivery and they work good.
 
There were two different "normal" rear bumper heights governed by when a particular '32 was built. Given that the sedan delivery was a late September, 1932 release, the rear bumper brackets were the higher bumper height type. The change in bumper heights occurred in as a running change in mid-July and applied to all '32 rear bumper brackets.
