I did a search and maybe i just failed to look hard enough, but does anyone know where I can send a stock 32 boattail horn out and have it restored and converted to 12 volts. I looked through hemmings and online and either i have come up blank so far.
Any help or leads would be appreciated

Try Alan Greenleaf just search his name on here. I know he sells restored ones. Not sure if he does them for others,

You might want to consider putting a late model horn inside of yours. People do not recognize the aooga sound as a horn. It also takes a bit of time to come up to speed. Jubalee beep horns will bolt in place and are very loud. I put one on my 32 years ago and would not go back. they are also a direct replacement in the later beep horns and are 12 volt.

I wired a late model horn to my horn button. I have a separate button under the dash for the Ahooga. When I blow the horn I want someone to recognize it as a horn.

Thanks for the leads on the horn restoration.
I never gave it any thought that the ahoogao didn't sound like a modern horn having another horn hidden some place on the car is not a bad idea. The ahooga horn is different enough when it is used people take notice.

A 6V '32 horn on 12 V ROARS! There is no "Ahoo" because the voltage blows it to full RPM instantly. Most people would be more likely to assume a terrorist bombing than horn, but it'll sureashell get their attention.
One of the Model A gurus says just running the lead through the primary circuit of a Model A-B type coil gives the right resistance to make it sound like a stocker. Model A pats suppliers also offer a purpose made resistor or reducer of some sort just for this.
Model A horns use same motor and many of the parts as a '32 Boattail, so there is lots of info and some parts availability. These things are WAY ovebuilt mechanically and usually don't need more than a good cleaning, oil where the owner's manual tells you to put it, and attention to be sure brushes have clean contact with armature. There is an adjustment screw right out the back so you can tune the noise to your preference.

I called the horn shop in NY the message said they are not taking any more phone calls. one option would be to buy a new one but still holding out to get this one rebuilt.
