Up for sale today is an original vintage 60's hot rod. It is an all original 1932 ford 5 window coupe with good ohio title. It is unchopped, channelled, has all steel garnish moldings, original dash, vintage gauges, original grill shell, all the wood is still in tact, original soft top, original cowl vent, and was originally a rumble seat model b. The body before they started on it was probably a near perfect body, because i can find no evidence of any patch panels. The doors are all original with no patches, no cowl patches, and no rear quarter patches. The subrails are still solid and evident until the rear wheel opening. The body is actually mounted to the bottom of the frame, and you see the frame rail when you open the door. Now for the good part, from what i understand, the previous owner in the 70's, used old technology, and used a early chevelle for some parts. The floor, the steering column, the clutch pedal assembly, the brake pedal assembly, and part of the firewall was all utilized. Everything is bolted to the frame or the body and could all be removed easily, except for the firewall where he grafted the 32 firewall to the chevelle one. But if the car was put back to stock height, an original firewall would solve that problem. The worst part of the car is the rear fenders in my opinion. The fenders are leaded on, and could be removed pretty easily. Underneath, it looks like all the correct body reveals are still there, but will need some work to fix correctly. The suspension consist of a 57? Chevy rearend, modified 36 rear bones, leaf spring in rear and up front looks like an early 32 heavy axel, with split wishbones, early ford drum brakes, and ansen shock mounts. The frame is an original 32 frame that was bobbed in the rear. The wheels are new cragar s/s rims. The engine checks out to be a 283 with a 3 speed trans. But......overall, it is a real duece, that can be driven as is, and fixed along the way, or would make a very nice project to brought back to the correct height. The car does run, drive, start stop, but it does run like a hot rod. It aint no cadillac!
