1932 B Distributor Rotor Movement

I’m working on a B Engine with a Cragar Overhead Valve Assembly. I have installed an FSI Distributor with the extended shaft.

Once at TDC and pointed at #1. I can turn the rotor completely around by hand. When I rotate the engine, the rotor turns.

I have two other B -Engines that are very tired stock running engines. The rotor assembly is rock solid and unable to turn or rotate by hand.

I would guess the Oil Pump Distributor Drive Gear is not fully engaged some how?

Any ideas, thanks

Perhaps the shaft makes enough contact to rotate distributor, but not enough to engage drive tangs
Take off side cover and you should be able to see problem

Model B distributors have centrifugal advance, hence you can rotate the rotor to the extent of the advance.

Bob C is referring to the screw at the top of the distributor shaft that holds the four-sided cam in place that opens and closes the ignition points.

Ok that makes Sense , however, this is an FSI (Electronic) distributor not stock on a Cragar Head with extended distributor shaft.
