1932-33-34 Fuel Gages

Are the 1932 pass, 1932 truck/PU, 1933 truck/PU and 1934 truck/PU fuel gages all the same? If not, how do I "ID" which one I have? Thanks for any help.

The gauges are the same as far as how they operate. If they fit and are in working condition they will work. The tank sending units are differant in commercial vehicles. G.M.

I cannot say what is what, but there are differences in the fuel gauge faces as to how the fuel levels are labeled - increments? There are common ammeters
that read 20amps, but there are also those that read 30amps - not sure when the change was made? 32 and 33 have terminals to connect the wires, while 34 has a loop that the wires just passes through. That change could have occurred during 33? - we all know that Ford didn't always (ever?) change things at the stroke of midnight between model years...

All this info and detail might be in the new 32 book??? at least as far as what was using during 32. There may be Service Bulletins regarding the change in
the ammeter?

As posted, they all fit the same hole size in the panel...

The 33 cars had 20 amp gauges
And the 34 had 30 Amp gauges.

Probably similar timing för the trucks.

There is also an early '32 gas gauge with different mrkings than the common one...
I have a couple of the 30 amp (round, truck) gauges, with loop connectors instead of posts. Loop came along maybe late '33.

I am now recalling that some 32 fuel gauges had the number of gallons (3 - 6 - 9- 12?) on the face (maybe earliest version?) and others have fractions (1/4 1/2 3/4 F) which I think is the most common. New faces were (are?) reproduced and I think have fractions???

Regarding the amps, as I posted, it is doubtful that the change occured exactly at the change of model years??? When ordering an original wiring harness, it is important to specify which type of ammeter you have, or there will be grief...
