I am putting this car back together. Does anyone know of a source where I can get a description or diagram of the interior trim screw locations. The info should include: screw type, size, length and other pieces that are required at that location. Any info would be helpful.

Hello Taylor,
We are trying to preserve a 1931 S/W Fordor also. It is still largely apart, but came with an interior screw assortment. From what I learned, the purchased assortments/kits do not come with instructions.

A Supplier suggested using deduction to figure out the kit. For example, a Supplier's Catalog lists: "8/32" Tube Nuts For slant windshield closed cars used on the front door window molding (included in trim kit). 10 male and female screws. Chrome plated. Nuts for one door." I was able to identify these in the Assortment Kit. I kept doing this and believe I figured out the puzzle. Hope this helps.

The 8/32 screws for the Tube Nuts that came in the trim screw kit I got from one of the suppliers were all too long to tighten up when installing the door window frames. I had to cut about three threads off each one. I bought two trim screw kits in case I was one short or lost one, and I had the tube nuts and screws nickle plated to be more original. Also, The screws provided for the windshield garnish moldings, number 8 with a number 10 head in a 8/32 thread, were too short to reach the threads in the windshield post and had oval heads causing interference with the closing of the windshield. Roy Nacewitz supplies number 8 and number 10 nickle plated oval head screws and nickle plated dash and instrument panel screws that can be used to replace the chrome or stainless ones in the kits. It seems that most of the screws I used were number 8 oval head wood screws to hold all the garnish moldings (except where the tube nuts go), mirror, pullstraps, and window shade brackets. By the time I was finished I had used most of screws provided only as examples to be replaced with the nickle plated ones from Roy Nacewitz. Art

While I haven't used them, I understand that the screws & parts from Roy Nacewitz are most accurate!

The following is more of what I've come up with. It may not be completely correct.

*Screws for Garnish Molding Spacer- 5 ea per door-8-32 screws 3/4" long, oval head, straight slot.

*8/32" X 10 Male/Cup Washer/Female Tube Nuts used on the front & rear door window moldings. Used on top & on sides of the moldings. Ten per door?

*Twelve #10 x 1" oval chrome plated wood screws to hold the Rear Window Frame in place.

*Thirty-six #8 x 3/8" Pan Head zinc plated metal screws to secure the Door Sill Plates.

Hope this helps.

My 31 Slant window Town Sedan has an “unmolested” interior.
Other than a blanket on the front seat and a rubber floor mat.

Your welcome to look at it.

Hello nhusa,
Thank you for the offer to see your car's unmolested interior.
Can you please post/attach some photos?
Thank you,
Nelson

I’ll try.
We are focusing on the T this weekend so it will be a few days before we get to the A

I've "heard" that most interior screw kits come with enough screws to even do a Fourdor Sedan & you just use part of them for other Body Styles. BUT, you can "hear" anything, like, "Just around the corner, there's FREE LUNCH"---LOL--Just form a LINE--LOL
