1931 model A coupe

Rubber bumpers for the rumble seat seem to be hard to put in and was wondering if there is a means or method to install the new bumpers that fit on the top of the lid.
Any help would be appreciated for this 73 year old novice.

The last time I installed some was about 35 years ago, but I put some slippery
dish soap on them, and had a friend help hold them steady while I carefully
used a small flat screwdriver to push the rubber lip into the hole.

Others may chime in with a better method for you to try, good luck.

Warm the rubber in hot water to make it softer. Also use the dish soap as Lanny suggests.
