(1930/31 Coupe). Anyone have pictures of the competed rear window roll down kit installed.

Thanks for your time...

Here is where I am today. I drilled holes according to directions but when I installed the T handle I found that it hits the shelf. So I will have to drill some more holes. I'm not sure what I did wrong. So if I bring this shelf down will it cause any problems with interior installation?

(Pictures attached are of shelf hitting T Handle and placement of shelf side tab on the quarter-panel wood)

Here are pictures of where the shelf would rest if the T handle was allowed to turn. I haven't re-drilled holes yet. Does anyone see anything wrong.

Here is a picture of the entire back window project. The shelf is in the position where it hits the T handle.

Not sure, but looks like your package tray depth should be shorter. As is, the seat may site too far forward for comfort. I have an original 1931 package tray for roll down window. If you need dimensions, let me know.

Mitch, Thanks for the response! :D

I never thought of the seat being moved forward due to this roll down window. Maybe I can make up the room by slightly lowering the package tray?
It could be a quest to find the appropriate tray?

I measured my package tray depth at 5 7/8". (see photo)
Tray to door opening is 11 1/2". (see photo)
Window edge to top of tray ~ 5 1/2". (see photo)

Any pictures or measurements would be very helpful.
1) Measurement from the edge of glass window to top of package tray.
2) Measurement of tray to door edge
3) Center of widow crank to top of package tray
4) Depth of your package tray.

Thanks again and have a great day.
George

The package tray I have access to is an original roll down tray, and has a depth of 5". It also has some stamped impressions along the back side that yours doesn't have.

First, a big thanks to everyone responding and viewing. I am having fun and learning a lot.

Mitch and Hitman: My package tray is about one inch wider than original roll down tray but I am going with it for now. I will add my seat and try it all out before adding my interior. I'm skinny so I hope it works. Thanks so much for letting me know so I can test it out. :)

My glass is tight within the new channels so I will have to deal with that. Maybe the C-channels are thicker than original or my glass is cut a little wide. I will take it all apart and put in my original glass to see if that is the problem.

Question: Does the glass side C-channels sit on top of the metal window frame tab? I am guessing so since the window has to set close to the outside of the window opening. The bottom tab is bent down for roll down window but nothing is said about the side tabs.

ANY pictures, more ADVICE, or SATIRE is welcome...I'm a total newbie and have a hard outer shell so if I'm totally screwing this project up let me know. :). Silence is the enemy of improvement.
Attached picture is where I am today...:D.

George, I think that your crank handle is too wide. Mine is 3” wide and has plenty of clearance, my tray is 5” wide and positioned the way yours looks.

That was a great thought. I went out and snapped a picture. Looks like my handle is also 3 inches. My package tray is almost 6" wide and 4 1/2" tall.
Thanks for looking into that specification. (see pictures)

George, you will want to replace the round head screws that hold the window mechanism in with the original flat head screws. You will not have "bumps" in the upholstery that way!

Here are some pics of when I did mine. I remember having to move things around a bit to make things fit and work. There are a few articles out their but not all of the dimensions worked for me.
3" handle and the 5 7/8" package tray like yours

Thanks so much for the time and pictures Phil. I think you are right by raising it even higher than I have it. Mine is still a little too close to the package tray. I will drill a few more holes and move it up tomorrow. It also looks like my tray is now the same hight as yours...good to know. It's a good thing I have a welder and paint gun. :D. I might call this the Swiss Cheese project. :)

The OP’s package tray is not for a roll down window, that’s why the measurements and hole alignments are off. I mentioned this above.

It’s a custom/modified install at this point and the OP just needs to fit things and modify the package tray until things fit to their liking.
