1931 data patent plates

I recently acquired a 1931 roadster pickup. The body is all original steel body from Mass. The vehicle was restored around 10 years ago by a gentleman and Model A club friends. The pickup was done in great detail to be original. It does not have a data plate. I'll look for the inside dimples. Any other 31RPU owners info about the data patent plate, mounting location etc Thanks

Here's pictures of flat and indented firewall pictures with data plates.

No, the firewall is flat. Did all model A's have the data plate except the Canadians and indented firewalls?

Look at the first picture you can see the data plate between where the gas shut
off valve goes and where the coil mounts.

When you say "data plate" I assume you mean the plate that shows the patents under which the car was built. Bodies built by other than Ford also had a body number plate. I believe the '31 RDPU was built by Ford and would therefore have only the plate showing the patents. I would like to add the question "Who has the best patent plate?". My guess would be A&L if they make one.

My pickup is a open cab (roadster) 1931. The patent plate was never installed on a total restoration. The seller was an original parts restorer. Did the open cab "76B" have the patent plate? Thanks. I have an original excellent plate to install if it is original
Thanks for your info / help:confused:

Here is a pic of the patent data plate location on my roadster. My roadster has a flat firewall with matching 1931 frame and engine numbers . I installed the new repro data plate in the original holes I figure it may be correct. The car had a 1963 Massachusetts inspection sticker on the windshield when I got it and was said not to have been run since. This appears to be the normal location for flat firewall 30-31 model A's

I have a 1930 std phaeton made in canada and it had a patent plate. I got a repo one from Derek T in new Zealand.

Here is the data plate on my late 31 ccpu, just to the left of the coil.
