I am test fitting my wood and metal.
There is a carriage bolt round head that seems to be making a gap in the support header plate above the door. I know the gap will be smaller when I nail everything together but the bolt will stop it from being totally flush.
The Coupe Book MAFCA says it is suppose to be a carriage bolt which is attached to the middle wood support. (See Arrows in pictures)
In the middle picture you can see the bolt head slightly showing. Blue tape arrow next to it.
1) Am I installing something the wrong way?
2) Am I being OCD and shouldn't worry about this small gap because it will get covered by the Door Header Cover Plate?
3) Maybe these new carriage bolts have a thicker head and I should grind this one flatter?
Any advice or pictures would help.
