My newly acquired sedan had a repop dash light, and the switch "stem" was bent and loose, and the wire had a break that was soldered back together and poorly wrapped in vinyl tape. I replaced the armored wire with a section of leftover new armored wire I purchased from A&L years ago when I restored my coupes original dash light. I disassembled the switch pieces, straightened out the barrel/switch assembly that moves beneath the bulb, reassembled and used a micro torch to silver solder the "stem" to the sliding barrel that it attaches to beneath the bulb. The switch stem seems to be the weak link and the silver solder that I employed seems to have made it much more robust. My switch works perfectly now and my armored wire doesn't have any frays or breaks.
