hey gang,
I'm putting together my roadster and attaching my tank to the firewall etc. I purchased some lacing and a cloth roll from Mikes a affordable. Can someone please post pictures of how it goes together. It woud be very much appreciated.

Hello, did this on a 1931 roadster, the thinner webbing, mine was white in color, will go under the gas tank between the cowl support area and also on firewall where the tank is bolted to with the 12-24 screws. Black 1/8 beaded welt goes from the front of tank between the cowl panels , and tank to cowl strip , you will have to fit it by cutting the welt, not the bead , to have it fit the curves on the tank . There is also clamps on side of tank that attach to cowl panels to help draw up cowl to side of tank fit. Sorry I don’t have pictures. Perhaps another FB will help.

Did find some pictures of cowl area but no welt .

I used a needle to place strong thread every 1/2 inch along the curved and cowl panel areas to draw the welt into place. Have the thread long enough to be pulled from the inside. This also works for fender welt. just clip the excess thread when done.
