1930 Pickup Steering Box ????

Friend has a 1930 Model A truck
The sterring box that has approx 8"of play in steering wheel movement.

What would you suggest in doing repair of this matter.

Rebuild.,aftermarket where would you buy from ect

Start checking the Whole front end to the box. and the pitman arm. 8 in. that's a lot!

as mentioned above, it will take 2 of you, one to rock the steering back and forth while the other checks every single point for loss of movement. If it turns out the steering box needs adjusting, the procedure is described in the Service Bulletins. Most often, loose steering is an accumulation of wear throughout the entire steering system, although occasionally it can be a result of one thing or another.
