Model A
Boxed Frame
I bought this boxed Model A frame because I thought it would be a short cut to building a Model A (flathead of course) V8 hot-rod. However, this frame setup is for a small block Chevy and automatic transmission. Front and rear motor/transmission mounts are already installed. Having said that, the frame is ready for a Model A body; all the mounting tabs and brackets remain in place.
The frame has been boxed using 5/16” plate. It has a straight front axle with a split wishbone, steering gear, control arms, suspension, disc brakes on all four corners and parking brake cables already installed. Plumbing to all four discs has been completed from the master cylinder proportioning valve. The rearend is an 8.8” with ladder bars and coil overs. There are four new 15” radial tires mounted on older chrome rims. Additionally, I have a ’30-’31 fiberglass hi-boy body I will include.
For what I wanted to do, there would be a good deal of cutting and welding.
Absent the engine, and transmission, it is ready to go. You could tow it home !
