1929 roadster question?

Can anyone tell me what the correct spacing might be to install the grab handles on a 29 roadster, my original quarter panels had the front bolt hole about 3" forward of the trunk seam, but if I use the support brace that would fit on the underside I would move the forward hole closer to the front about an 1", or 4" from the trunk seam. Is there a correct space to mount the handles? Thanks

thanks i hope it is warmer here tomorrow, it was sunny but only 23 degrees i have had enough winter and want to get some progress on the car. thanks again.

Thanks that is the info I am looking for. The old holes I have do not line up with the holes in the new braces so I am asking were to place them because I would like to get it correct so people will talk about the things I did miss! I have 4 holes in the center of the panel ahead of the trunk are they also support points?

The four holes in the center of the panel are for four little rubber bumpers that the rear window rests on when the top is down.

A quick sketch of the top rest placement.... My original top rests are 6" center to center standoffs.

eeyore,
There is a sheet metal doubler, I don't think you have it, that goes between( I
haven't got my quarters apart yet) the quarter panel and the T molding to
support the top rest/handles. Check Snyder's, I didn't see it in Bratton's

Dudley

When the top is down it rests on these handles the top hold down straps hook on them and you snug them down to keep the folded top from flopping up and down.
