1929 Fordor Window Glass

Just got my 29 Fordor out of storage where it has been for 30 yrs. Got it in 1967 when I was a junior in college. All I have ever restored are roadsters and coupes {30-31} over the years never a sedan. I need to replace all the window channels. I found info on 30-31 cars but not the wood 29. How in the world do you get the glass out ? I have everything out of the door but the glass. I am new to this site and enjoy the wealth of knowledge. I am 77 now and think I got one more in me.

I 'believe' (I have been wrong at least once in my life though;) the glass comes out through the top of the door. There is a top metal piece that is nailed on, remove that, the channel, disconnect the glass inside the door and then it slides right up.

I have been wrong at least once also. As far as I know on Murray on Briggs there is NO removable top piece. With the window rolled down, loosen the channels so you can roll the window up pulling the top out so it clears the top of the door. That is what I remember.

Thanks for the reply. I saw where the top piece is nailed together with a bunch of tacks.Do not want to get into taking all that loose.I will try snaking the channels out with the window down. Can glue new ones in. Thanks again.
