1928 radiator question.

Was their a discussion/article at one time that was about affixed number plates to some radiators? I don't know if I am confusing a model A discussion with another make.

I had just gotten this radiator and had noticed the number plate attached on the lower left corner of the top tank.

I would say that it was put on there by a radiator repair shop some years ago.. I have never seen an original NON-repaired one with it, & I have had quite a few & still do..
