Hi folks
Has anyone had experience removing a single rear wooden spoke wheel from an AA truck.
wheel is a 20 inch rim.
not sure the thread on the hub would take a wheel puller and not sure where to get a wheel puller for this truck.
if anyone who may of had the same problems could share any info or alternate solutions I would be so grateful .

Hey Andy, I feel your pain!
I built a couple from scratch after doing a search on http://forums.aa-fords.com/viewforum.php?f=1
My first efforts failed, but I kept at it and it finally came off with a bang. Heat can be your friend as well. I had a pretty bashed up hub cap that I drilled a hole in big enough to fit the straw of a penetrating oil can through. Wrapped the threads with teflon tape and screwed it on tight. Then I filled the cap with penetrating oil and let it sit. several applications of heat/cool cycles and then the puller. It was a battle but it finally came off. Good luck!

Thanks folks

I followed your link to the wheel puller company and now am in conversation with them to build a custom puller for the truck.
Just in case of any differences do you know the outside width of your rear hubs and how many threads per inch on those hubs , it would be interesting for comparison.
Farrell , not a bad idea , I may yet have to try that method , Best wait for my puller first before I go the aggressive negotiation route.
Many thanks.
Andy.

do you have the same rear wheels as me,single rear wooden spoke 20 inch rim.
George at the hub pullers is asking for the thread pitch and I am no engineer.

You could use a hub knocker for the size of your axle threads.
This one is for cars but shows what I mean.

You put it on then jack up the other side leaving the wheel you are removing on the ground then smack it smartly with a 5LB hammer. If that don't work, lossen the nut a turn re- cotter pin it and drive around some and see if it breaks free.
