I just purchased a 1928 CC pickup and the rear window is at the very top of cab.. How long did they build them this way.. Thanks for any info.....

You may have a very early CC...According to the MARC/MAFCA Restoration Guidelines that back panel with the "Ford" script on top was from Start of production, October 1927, until February 1928. The next one, went from February 1928 to June 1928 without the "Ford" script.

Does your gas tank posess the following:

1. The flat type chock rod bracket or the long forged choke rod bracket?

2. Are there vertical reenforcement ribs on either side of the coil or no ribs?

It's outside in the snow and dark.. I'll look for those clues tomorrow.. Thanks.......

I looked this morning and there is no FORD above the back window, There are 2 vertical ribs beside the coil, and the bottom of the tank is rusted and there is no choke rod bracket because of this rust.. There is a hole in the driver's side subrail where the emergency brake handle went.. I hope this helps answer the rough guess of build date.. Thanks for your help Steve...... Carl

See if you can find a date on the gas tank if any...do you know where to look?

Lower left side of the firewall or Dash Upper Assembly in the tank.

Date on lower left corner of tank is 7-3-28....... I'm assuming that must be close to build date....... Thanks again Steve......Milo

Now that we got you going...what is the assembly plant code?

To find that code, clean off the body subfloor cross rail for which the front seat riser is riveted to. You should, but maybe not, see a code which contains a series of 1-4 letters and a group of numbers such as AS123 (which is the code for Seattle).

It should be directly behind the heel of your feet as you sit in the drivers seat or any where along that body cross rail.
