We are looking for the front and center cross members from a 1928 or 1929 Model A frame for a car we are restoring at McPherson College. Thanks, Chris Paulsen

Re: 1928-29 Model A Frame Front Crossmember Wanted

Thank you for the responses. We have a center crossmember, but still need a good front one. Here's a photo. Note the raised boss on either side and holes in the center.
Thanks,
Chris

I have a later Model A front crossmember available if you haven't found the exact correct one. Mine isn't raised as much at the radiator mounting pad area (extra rubber mounting pads would need to be used. Also the radiator mounting bolt slotted holes run perpendicular to the frame rails rather than parallel with them. I am in Olathe, KS Call me if interested, 913-638-7600, thecobraguy. I used to own a restoration shop. I donated books and guest lectured at your school.

Just so you know the frames are all the same unless you get into the 1 ton trucks and stuff otherwise the normal 28-31 model a frames are identical.

This statement is wrong. There are quite a few differences if you know what to look for. Most don't matter if you're rodding, but if you're restoring, you have to get the right year.

Ummmm, no. No they're not. Not even close....

MANY running changes over the four years of production.
