1927 throttle cable

I am thinking of installing a throttle cable from lever on steeering column to carburburetor. Any thoughts? Really don't want to drill hole through block and valve cover.

There is already a hole in the block and valve cover right between #2 and #3 cylinders for the original throttle rod to go through. Any reason why you are thinking of using a cable?

Here is a picture - you can see the hole just under the intake manifold.

The 27 may not have had the hole if it had the complex linkage and the vapourizer? Cable might work but i never tried it.

The hole through the block AND valve cover was elimated in 27 for the vaporizer carb... Its only about 1/8 thick on the casting. ws

I learn something new every day.......we had a '27 engine in our Hack, but I guess someone knocked out the casting and put on an earlier valve cover for the throttle rod.

I have purchased a carb linkage that bolts to the head from Langs. This has allowed me to connect to upper arm on steering column which connects to throttle lever. Thanks fo your help.
