I found this listing. I am wondering, if you can tell by looking at these pictures, what is right and wrong with it. Do you think it is priced right? what modifications have been made to it? I have a model a and am new to that world and have not ever really looked at a model t before. I am just hoping for some "share the wisdom" on what is wrong or right about this truck.

THANKS

4oldfords, It was not unusual in the Model T days to remove the back half of a touring car and install a bed to haul farm products. I bought one from our neighbor who had done what is pictured on craigs list, but kept the removed back section which I also got with the car. Now a project waiting to be done.
The car looks good, but I think it may be a little overpriced for what it is. If it was a roadster with the original Ford bed, it would be worth more.
Usually the word truck means a TT truck and is rated at 1 ton. (worm drive rear end)

That's a home made roadster pick up from a cut off touring body, hence no top iron mounts. Looks like a lot of fun but would be way more fun for about 3500.

They may have trouble finding a buyer for that price. On the other hand you probably couldn't put one together for that kind of money. It all depends on whether one wants one like that or not.

If the mechanical work has been done as well as the body work, it may be a good buy at five or six grand. If is a mighty big word. Sometimes folks fix up the cosmetics and ignore all the worn out mechanical stuff. The best way for a novice to shop for a T is to take along somebody with T experience to help check it out.

Looks like a 20 footer to me. That is: gets worse as you get closer than that. The hood and body are slightly different colors. The interior upholstery looks like the cheaper "plastic feeling" material. The left rear fender appears damaged or rusted. Spotted more but don't feel like listing it all. Look, while they were fairly common back when and their "acceptable" now, it's a chopped up car that's going to pale when you see it up close. If 2 seats are OK with you hold out for a Coupe or Runabout but if you want a Touring get a Touring.

thanks everyone. I have been toying with idea of getting a pickup. I sent the seller a list of questions about condition but never heard back. I was wondering if it was worth pursuing. I will keep my eye on it - who knows - If I get it I will let you know

Thanks
