1927 Model T Gas Gauge

Not being familiar with the Model T's as I am with the Model A's, did the gas tank on the 1927 T's move to the upper front cowl section and if so, just what did the gas gauge look like?

Any photos?

Thanks.

Steve, 26-7`s had tank in the cowl but used the same gas guage as earlyier models. I keep several paint stirring sticks around to check it before a venture. Monte

Model T gas gauge sticks had different scales for the different tanks - round tank, sedan, oval tank and cowl tank. The difference wasn't huge, you can get by with a plain stick today. There are new made sticks available from some vendors like Mac's:

and you can find old sticks at swap meets like in Chickasha, OK and Hershey, PA.

Actually there was an accesory one made that had a float gauge which mounted on the driverside door post and was plumbed to the outlet of tank. They are somewhat rare, but you see one now and then at swap meets.
