Hello, I would like to know if a 1926 model T roadster pickup came with a bar between the headlights, my dad's has one but at a car show last night someone said it would not be original, we think otherwise.

Thanks, Neal in Iowa

Depends on what type of bar you are referring too. In 26 they added a tie bar to mount the license plate to. In late 26, the tie bar with the headlights mounted to it came about.

Farmallcub49, Thanks for the answer, this truck has a license plate bracket below the crank handle and a straight bar between the lights, would that possibly make it a late 1926?

Neal

Accessory (non Ford) headlamp tie bars were made for the '26 with the fender mounted headlamps. See the attached adv, this bar was made for the fender mount style headlamps.

Then Ford in late '26 made the new headlamps that mount to the Ford bar.

So if your headlamps mount to the fender (left and right style mounts) then the T is a '26.

If the headlamps have the single swivel mount (no left or right) and are mounted on the Ford bar, the T is a late '26 or '27. If original motor is in the T, that will date the vehicle by the engine serial number.
