I'm working on a 1926 Model T Touring, I Have two sets of running boards and was checking them out for the best set to use on the car when I noticed that the Ford Logo on one set is a different size than the other set. I have tried to find information on the difference but can't find anything. Has anyone run into this ? and why did Ford change the Logo ? any information would be appreciated. Thanks: Jerry

I ran into the same thing restoring my 26 coupe. Mine is an early 26, manufactured in late 25 and had the smaller script with Ford on top, and Made in USA underneath. Later boards had the larger Ford scipt with a different arrangment for the Made in USA (I think it was all on one line, if I recall correctly). I have no idea why the change was made, but have found that the first variety I mention above was used on the early 26 cars up until some point in manufacture.

Thanks Guys, My first thought was that the running boards might be for an early 1928 Model A. I have a 1928 Model A that I put together years ago, After checking the boards on the A I Found that they are made with a metal suppot under the board for attaching to the running board bracket Both sets of the T boards use wood. I have found mention in one of my Model T books that there was a difference in the Ford Logos as you stated with the made in usa. But no explanation why. Thanks Again: Jerry
