This a 1924 Ford Roadster. It has a Illinois title with engine #5895648 that match.
The car is rough amateur restoration probably done in the 60's or earlier. It came from a guy who owned Peoria Auto Parts in Peoria, IL. It was all auctioned in 1976 including this car.
I did get the car running quite easily. Then I proceeded to:
Install new 6v Battery and Generator and cutout
Install new glass and rubber
New wiring
New plugs
New head gasket (everything was fine, but wanted to see inside)
New oil inspection gasket after thorough cleaning
Changed oil (twice)
Greased all cups
Flushed cooling system (several times)
It needs new tires. I just put some on that I had that held air. All rims are de-mountable with 30x3 1/2 on the car now.
The car does not over heat. Hold about 180 degrees.
The clutch does stick little when cold, so it is hard to push in neutral. Low, high, reverse and brakes work well.
The body is the roughest part. I will be happy to send a link to more pictures upon request.
Please ask questions. This is T #4 and it's time to move it on to the next person.
THANKS!
