I would like to tighten up all the parts associated with the clutch pedal. Can this pedal and shaft be removed with the transmission in the car?

If I don't remove the clutch pedal shaft, which way does the pedal retaining pin get driven out? Either way?

Thanks for your help, Ed

Clutch pedal is part of the Hogs Head. I am not sure why you want to remove it. Is there slop in the pedal itself or the linkage? The pedals do bend and sometimes need to be reheated and reformed. You might want to check into it a bit further before you dive in.

Thank you for your reply. The hole in the pedal for the rod is enlarged due to wear. I thought I might take the pedal off and weld up the hole and redrill it. I would also change out the connecting threaded rod, the clevis and pin. It is all so sloppy, it is difficult to get the neutral position with the pedal half way down. I was hoping I could remove the pedal and get everything back to "as new condition", if that is possible on a Model T!!! Ed

Ed, You will need to pull the hoghouseing to rebush it. Not a major job but still a job. That should help cure your problems an get you back to finding neutral easyier. Monte

Ed, don't use a repro rod that fits in the clevis. That was originally made with a 5/16" rod that had the threads cut in it. The repro ones use a smaller rod with rolled threads. It fits much looser in the clevis than the original. Of course, you could weld up the holes in the clevis and redrill them also. Just a heads up. Dave
