[FONT=Verdana,Arial,Helvetica]Good day everyone,

Newbie here to this Forum so please forgive me if I am not posting correctly. My company has recently acquired a new 1917 Model T delivery truck of some sort, but I have no idea on how to determine what the model is. The serial number on the engine is 1611797 and from what I can determine it was produced in 1916, but that is only the engine. I have tried looking for the serial number on the frame rail but could not find any information being that this looks to have been previously restored (even though it doesn't look like it). The frame is showing to be powder coated and virtually has no rust. However, the rest of the body and interiors are pretty rough as you can see. We are going to do a possible full restoration on the vehicle, but I need to get more information on it. Any help that can be provided would be excellent, and thank you very much in advance.

You will not find a number on the frame unless at some point it was added to register the car. It is a Model T huckster type rig. The body could have been made by a factory supplier that made these type of body's or one off made in a home or cabinet builders shop. Better photos will help but looks to be about 1919 to 1923 with and early motor added so they could use the title. Does it have a generator on the right side of the motor and a starter? Looks to have been built on a standard car chassis.

This post is also on the MTFCA site
they are saying that the motor my be a 17 but the chassis looks to be from the 20s and the body is by someone other than Ford

My guess would be that it was made in the 50's or later. The hinges don't look like period hardware. They might have used some early features and some of there own design. Fairly good craftsmanship. That's just my opinion after looking at a few hundred of these kind of bodies. It may well be earlier. From the photos the hood, radiator and fenders look like 1923-1925 but can be sure. More detail would pin it down closer.
