1915 Hood FORMER

I am restoring a 1915 Roadster. The car was built in December of 1914. I am looking for a hoor former. I see them advertised for 1914 autos but not 1915. Is it called something different? Anyone have any suggestions?

A swap meet or private collector is your only hope. They aren't being repoped. I sold three at Chickasha couple years ago.

Because of the December date is it a flat dashed 14 style or the new style body? From what I have gathered, depending on the location the car was first sold, they were still assembling the 14 style open body into early 1915. If it's a new style body then the hood former that Jack shows is the one you are looking for.

Ken , I have a December 1915 roadster too. It's never totally been restored but has fifty or so year old paint, new upholstery. Mine has 14 rear fenders.
Casting date on the engine is 12-10-14.

Yes, your car could have a 14 style body, in which case you can use the reproduction hood former available from Snyder's, etc. for $185.

You can see the flat firewall on the picture of a 14 on the left.
