1914 Valve Lapping Complete, Valve Gaps

I have lapped in all the valves and have installed new springs and spring seats. I have checked the valve gaps and this is what I have:
#1 - 0.020
#2 - 0.015
#3 - 0.016
#4 - 0.020
#5 - 0.020
#6 - 0.015
#7 - 0.014
#8 - 0.019

They may be a bit noisey but I think the valves will work OK with these clearances. Let me have your comments. Thank you for all your encouragement and suggestions. This job looks like it may turn out OK. Ed

Are those the readings you get setting the valves by piston travel or just what you ended up with? Should work for now. You might not have as much power and top speed.

They are large. In fact the smallest reading is too large. My understanding is .010 for intake and .012 for exhaust. It will be noisy and you'll lack power.

Those numbers are small compared to what they can go to. The .010 and .012 are more modern numbers. With piston travel method of setting the valves you could add maybe .015 to the largest number. Yes they would be noisy but with a worn cam that would allow all the valves to open and close at the same time in the sequence.
