1914 radiator rod

Can anybody tell me the location of the radiator rod as it goes through the firewall? Is the nut supposed to be behind the coilbox/ coilbox lid, or... not much room there? Thanks
 
I believe that the original rod had a round head,like a stove bolt on it. It fits behind the coil box and goes in before coil box is installed.The nut was then on the engine side.
 
Jack is correct. On 1911-1915 cars the coil box has to be out to install or remove the support rod. The round read of the rod is against the firewall on the inside and the nut and flat washer are on the engine compartment side.
