Picked up a 17 Touring yesterday. Supposedly last ran in 1955. Did a little work on it yesterday and fired it up. Runs great. Needs alot of work yet.

Always interested,in a case like this, how far you plan to go cosmetically. Obviously the interior is gone. How about the body? Do you plan to paint it?

Charlie,
It needs to be completely done. The wood is almost completely gone and what is there is in very poor shape. If it was solid I would maybe drive it as it is but that is not an option.

Had the engine running for a couple of hours on Saturday. Runs great but has a mile of crankshaft endplay so I will have to fix the engine too.

So you're going "ground up". I'd start with the eng/trans/rear end personaly. I imagine that's going to be the big ticket item. Of course no body is giving away body wood, upholstery or paint either!
