hello- i want to make a 14-1.25mm to 1/2" npt adapter for model t sparkplug compression tester using lowe's plumping fixtures by tapping 14 mm in a plug- someone pls explain: 14 mm (14mm=.55")is bigger than 1/2 " so 1/2" npt must mean something other than 1/2" outer diameter ? thanks

The inside of 1/2 inch pipe is 1/2 inch but the outside is bigger. The 1/2 inch refers to the inside diameter.

Thanks so a 1/2 npt plug actual diam would be 5/8" and a model t sparkplug hole is actially 5/8 "(.63") ?

1/2" pipe is .840" outside diameter. You should be able to make your adaptor from a 1/2 to 1/8 npt reducing bushing.

The adaptors are available from Mac's, etc. for $15.50 a set of 4 - pictured below.

Hi, I did mine by taking the compression tester and a sparkplug, went to the nearest auto parts store. The most accomadateing (sp) clerk rummaged around somewhere in the back of the store, and came up with a ready made reducer, no modifying required. Kinda lucky, I thought. It works fine. Skolzie
