12v starting 6v system

If I start 6v systems with 12v will it do damage if I don’t turn lights or anything on

I'd be strongly tempted to remove the large-ish yellow wires from the battery side of the starter solenoid that power the rest of the car. So nothing else in or on the car gets 12v power.

Use a jumper wire to power the ignition coil & a remote start switch on the solenoid as needed. Don't leave the coil powered up if the engine isn't running, it can easily overheat.

thx in the mean time i found a used 6v battery
i'll see if i can get it started and do an assessment from there
