I was also told that you could cut a small peice of small diameter hose and lay it sideways under the contact. I was told it acts like a spring. I havent tried it but I guess it could work

12 volts in a Model A is like using LSD or heroin .... just say NO !!! Put a 6 volt battery in, use the heavy 6v cable(s), have your starter fixed, new bearings & brushes, this ain't a 390 you're crankin' pal, it's just a 205 with low compression, stick with what Ford put in when new and your troubles are over.
