Wick, TTs are fun for short runs. They do not do well on car tours as you get left in the dust due to the slow top speed.
I have a family 1924 TT bought new by my dad and use I use it for short trips, hay rides and an occasional parade.
Congratualation on your TT. I have a 25 TT closed cab. And I love mine too. As they say it is too slow to take for longer trips. I have a question for other TT owners. I can get up to about 26 MPH and then it feels like the whole thing is going to shake itself apart. Is that how the other TT's feel or do I have some other problem.
I just got my coils back from Ron the coilman...Wow does she run good now!
I went thru my Tag pile and found a matching set of VA.1923 plates...and im chaseing down a few other parts I need. next week i will change the bands and install my new top. Our speed limit is 35mph on the Island, and town is 4 miles away. Beer Run is 2 miles!

J Bohannon, that shake you described is common on TT trucks. The TT trucks have a long driveshaft and it does a "torque shake" at about 75% throttle and goes away if you speed up even more.
A mechanist friend of mine removed a TT drive shaft spun it at different speeds and could not find any sign of a balance problem. He finally solved the problem by putting a bearing on the shaft about halfway up the shaft tube. It was a tight fit between the shaft and the tube. Screws were place on the outside of the tube to hold the bearing in place. It solved the problem.
I have two TTs with this bearing installed and the shake is gone at all speed.
The family TT I described on the earlier post was left original.
Wick, There is a country watering hole about 7 miles from my house on back country roads. My TT and some of my T cars are known to stop there.
It is shame that some of us with like interest live so far apart.
My TT is pretty smooth but stiff. I'm usually around 20 mph. On the county roads here I keep the Ruxtell in low, no sense getting bucked out of the seat. Nice old truck you have. PK
