So all my lights had worked at one time both headlights and cowl lights. NO problems. Now did nothing but drive and run the car. Yesterday checking out everything and now the left side[driver side] headlight and cowl are dim.. Short and or ground. Thanks [p.s Marco thanks again for the pictures of the cowl webbing on a early thread. Everthing is correct now :D ]

Could be paint on the ground area of the headlamp bar or the body of the cowllamp connection. Sounds like a bad ground. A short would produce fireworks, or blow a fuse if you had one.

A handy tool to carry is a couple od wires about 6 feet long with a clip at each end. Just clip to a good ground and touch each light shell to see if the problen is corrected. If jumping corrects the problem, then you've found the poor ground. Sometimes if a bulb looses it's ground, it can feed back through the circuit through another bulb's filament and then to ground. This can make two different bulbs light with reduced power.
