Is there a way to decode a 1949 vehicle number? I get the 98BA and assume the branch refers to Kansas City but I can’t make any sense of the rest. 98BA-602164

Is there anyone re-publishing Lawson’s Flathead Facts? Ron’s book has a great deal on info on the rebuild process and Flathead Facts would be a great compliment to it. The problem is that I can’t find a copy anywhere. If anyone knows of a source for the book please let me know.
