1932 Ford Model B Open Cab Pickup for sale

**SOLD** This 1932 Ford Model B Open Cab Pickup has been in our family since 1939 (86 years) when my dad traded a Model A and a horse for it. * Long Beach, CA assembly plant * Originally used as a fire service vehicle by County of San Luis Obispo, California * In the same family since 1939...

    An Ordinary Adventure - Book

Diane Wood's "Retracing Mom and Grandpa's 1934 trip on Route 66 -- in a Model A!" Published 2018. Diane and her husband follow her mother's detailed journal notes as best they can, driving their own Model A Ford cross country. This is a print book. I read it, and it's in nearly new...

    Northern CA Appraiser Needed

Hi, all. I'm considering selling my '32 Model B Roadster PU. Been in our family 80 years, so hasn't been for sale since my dad bought it in 1939. I think my family is the 3rd owner: County of San Luis Obispo was first, then a rancher in SLO County, Ed Patchett (not sure), who my dad traded a...

1934 picku cab wood and seat

As you said, I'm sure '32s are quite different. But I thought I'd upload a couple of pics of my Open Cab '32 pickup that shows the rear wood slats. I don't know if Closed Cab 32s are the same. My three slats are full length, and each has a pointed bracket down low that catches the rear edge of...

    1937 Ford Panel

Thanks for all the pics in the album, Ray. Shows true dedication--and far more patience than I have! Beautiful job on all those curves, swoops, and swales. I'm sure you have no finger prints left after all the sanding. But that's good--the authorities can't identify you when you speed by!

    Wring crimping tool?

Of course like most things, I had no idea it was so complicated and/or controversial. I was just frustrated that I was on my back trying to solder a taillight wire overhead and I needed three hands. Shouldn’t be that difficult for the ones I have left to do. Not worth $60 for a...

    Wring crimping tool?

Does anyone sell a crimping tool for the chassis wiring bullet ends? I think it must have a half circle that supports the barrel while indenting the other half. These things are a pain to solder.

32 ford pu beep horn photo

Here are pics of the horn on my August '32 Roadster PU. This bracket it curved, not U-shape, where it attaches to the horn body. Now, if I could just get it to beep like it's supposed to.

    Calif fires again

And they've had four earthquakes in San Diego area too. We lived in SoCal for years, and it seemed each fall showed a pattern of Santa Ana winds and earthquakes. The experts said there was no correlation, but we didn't believe them. After the Northridge quake of 1994 that did so much damage...

    Isn't me?

Yep, done the same. Always much cheaper to rent local and pull the trailer both ways.

1934 Pickup Seat Advice and Interior Questions

My '32 roadster pickup had a single dispatch pocket on the right kick panel. I've seen photos of them mounted at varying heights. Most are mounted vertically, but I've seen at least one was mounted at a slight angle. I think vertical is correct. Attached is a photo of Ed Warnock's '32 Roadster...

Do any of you smell a rat here?

No wife whose husband died 2 months ago begins an add with "Hey,"--unless she had something to do with his demise. :-)

    Leaf Spring Poly-Slide

I did it on my '32 front spring, but I removed a leaf or two to soften the ride. They were a pain to work with and keep in place. I wouldn't do it again. A good grease like Jim/TX/GA suggested is a lot easier.

    Model B starter broken

Wondering how you check the alignment? I did rotate the flywheel a full turn to check all the teeth on the ring gear. Looking in through the starter hole, the ring gear is set back on the flywheel maybe an 1/8" or less all the way around (consistent setback, so it doesn't wobble). And the...

    Model B starter broken

Okay, I'm getting confused by the options. 1. It sounds like the armature is separate from the shaft and can be swapped with another shaft? I thought armature and shaft were sort of one unit, and that Frank Miller was suggesting replacing the shaft/armature with one from a Model A. 2...

    Model B starter broken

Well, my eyesight isn't what it used to be, but, yeah, I'm pretty sure the shaft is broken ;) Shaft looks crystalized on much of the interior, with only a couple of shiny metal break spots. Or I guess that could have happened when it broke and spun against the shaft ends for a second. I...
