    Remove timing Gear Cover

Holes in your bolts? You talking about the front motor mount yoke? The rear motor mount bolts have holes for safety wire, I suppose that the front mount bolts would have that also. Someone here will know for certain. Joe B

    brake adjusting wrench

I just scanned through this thread and was surprised that someone didn't mention that a common 12 point socket of the correct size works just fine on the square studs... off hand I don't recall the size...could be metric or imperial. And I'm not going out to the frozen garage to check! Joe B .

    What is this "vise"?

I have seen the old ad's for these "multi- tools" .. its a vice, its a bender , its a stretched and best of all, that crank handle was meant to drive a twist drill while advancing the feed using the vice screw. Evening Adjustment for Brakes

At the risk of starting a heated discussion about the position of the brake actuating arm it seems that the optimum "at rest" position should be just forward of vertical. The reason being that maximum mechanical leverage is achieved at the vertical position. Initially positioning the lever, a...

Did Ford use place bolts in/on Model A's?

Well thank you "atch". I've working with nuts, bolts and assorted fasteners for a better part of my 80 years and I don't recall knowing about Place Bolts and how they work. If I saw one, I would just have thought that it was just another grade 8 marked bolt. One learns "stuff" here all the...

    Ford Factory Photo Business Connection?

Being an "automatic screw machine " company they would have been a supplier of small round/ cylindrical parts, the kind of items produced on a lathe, but in large quantities. Typically, not common screws and bolts. Your brake rod clevis pins would be right for them. Joe B

Where Have All The Good People Gone

Maybe show up at local Hot Rod show and start asking around for someone that might help. Most of those guys are not afraid to turn a wrench and might actually enjoy working on something simple and 100% mechanical. Joe B PS. Does the local High School have an auto shop class ?

    Draining the Oil

Not a happy thought, but say a chunk of material, like a piece of broken out babbit is loose in the bottom of the pan. It moves over partially blocking the drain hole but too large to pass through. Probing up would not detect such an object. I hope not the case for you .. Joe B
