How far back are Title records kept?

Hello all - I'm trying to track down the history of my vehicle (1940 Ford Convertible Coupe). I live in Austin, Texas, bought the car in San Antonio. I sent the state a records request, but all I received was a copy of my transaction, and the title the previous owner signed over to me, dated...

Hello all, I'm looking for the following pictured part (driver's side) -- not sure what this is called, but it's near the top of the window where the curve is. This is for a 1940 Ford Deluxe Convertible Coupe. Pic 1 is the good one on the passenger side, pic 2 is the damaged one on the...

Looking for a 1940 hood support arm bracket

I was trying to see if Drake / Dennis Carpenter, etc sold this, but so far, I haven't found anyone that makes them. Does anyone have one perhaps? (pic attached) This is the bracket that attaches the hood support arm to the hood itself. I have the passenger side one, but not the driver's side...

    1940 Convertible top bow part?

Hi gang - in looking at pictures of other '40s , I've realized that I'm missing a small bow on my convertible top. I've got the previous owner looking for it, but I'm doubtful I'll find it. Does anyone either have an old partial set, know someone who does, or know of anyone who could manufacture...

How to keep the critters out ???

Has anyone used one of these "car bubbles?" They're supposed to be great for keeping out moisture, critters and dust... I've seen one at the local Classic car dealer here in Texas, and at one gentleman's house in Houston where I went to see a car for sale. Seems like a great solution...

New to the board - with a new 1940 Ford convertible

Rotorwench - that sounds like it exactly. I guess it's just missing the 18, which actually seems to be a common thing when they register these vehicles. I actually just bought this vehicle in San Antonio this week and trailered it home! I just ordered a serial number / patent plate, I'll mount...

New to the board - with a new 1940 Ford convertible

I suppose it's possible, but I doubt it. The vehicle has been on the road and owned by this older gentleman for many years, was taken off the road and updated twice by him, until this time he decided to change out the frame and go more restomod, then lost interest/time. The last time it was...

Hello everyone, I'm a new member to the board from Austin, TX. I've been in the hobby for a couple of years now, but have never taken on a project of quite this level. I just picked up a 1940 Ford Deluxe Convertible and am doing a restomod type restoration (picking up the pieces where the...
