    Ford flathead v8 value

This motor would just be a spare, nothing exciting. I already bought the 37 pickup. Way cool, and my wife loves it!

    Ford flathead v8 value

I have no idea about the history of what has been done to the engine. The only parts on it are the ones I listed. I just wanted the block for a replacement in case of a future catastrophe. I am not looking for a complete engine.

    Ford flathead v8 value

Guys, I am looking for opinions on a fair price for a flathead engine. A guy I know is selling a 47 ford flathead v8 block with flywheel, heads and starter. The engine looks good and is not seized up. What would be a fair price to pay? Thanks for your input! Paul

    37 ford starter/solenoid problem

Update: Now that the starter turns over, it has 5.6 volts at the starter. I then cleaned all contacts and checked again, still 5.6 volts. It starts right up as soon as I hit the starter button. It does have the front bracket that stabilizes the front of the starter. I will take the starter...

    37 ford starter/solenoid problem

So you think I have 2 separate problems? Low voltage to the starter and something perhaps broken in the starter? I assume I should have 6 volts at the starter, so I guess I will start by finding out why I don't. Thanks!

    37 ford starter/solenoid problem

When my wife would push the starter button, the only sound would be a click from the solenoid. The starter made no sound? I will take it apart and check it out. Thanks guys for the help! I love this forum! I have been here many times reading up on issues I have had, and always learn...

    37 ford starter/solenoid problem

Update: I just put it in 3rd gear and rocked it back and forth. I heard a clunk, took it out of gear, turned on the key, pushed the button and it started up with it's usual cranking. Turned it off and started it a few times, works great. Now, what does that mean? Do I have a flat spot on...

    37 ford starter/solenoid problem

Ok, I just tried jumping straight from the battery to the starter. I got kind of a clunk sound and it does not turn over. I assume the starter is bad? I still wonder why I only get 4.6 volts at the starter when I go thru the solenoid?

    37 ford starter/solenoid problem

It has good cables. The truck has been very reliable the year I have had it. I tried jumping across the solenoid with a pair of vise grips but all I got were a bunch of sparks. Perhaps that is not a good way to do it?

    37 ford starter/solenoid problem

Hi Guys, I have a stock 37 ford truck with 6 volt system. It has been running fine. Tried to start the other day, it turned over a few times but did not start. Pushed the starter button again and got a single click. Turn the key again and get one click. It has 6.6 volts at the battery. I...
