    Drag Link Question

Thanks for the help. I guess I shouldn't be calling the ends ball joints. They're the same as tie rod ends, just on a drag link and not a tie rod. It looks like my flat washer should be cupped to match the contour of the ball. I think I'll just use the washer off of my old end.

    Drag Link Question

I’m installing a NOS drag link in my ‘48 Super Deluxe. The fixed ball joint end included a flat washer and a rubber washer. How do these set on the ball joint stud. Does the flat washer sit against the ball joint or against the spindle arm? I believe that it’s supposed to sit against the ball...

    Quarter Window Seal Install

I'm installing new quarter window seals on a '48 coupe and wondering if anyone has advise on what to use to lubricate the seal so it goes into the channel easier. I want to make sure I don't use something that might damage the rubber seal or cause issues with it staying in place.

    Flushing a lever shock

My '48 ford has the old style lever shocks (I think Houdaille?). They seem to be in good shape so I was wanting to drain whatever is in them now and replace with fresh hydraulic jack oil. Is it ok to simply drain and replace the fluid or should they be flushed. If so what should be used to flush...

    thermostats

How were the thermostats held in place originally? Were they a different style? I’m pretty sure it wasn’t with a couple copper wires wedged between the neck and the hose. I haven’t been able to make that work without a small leak where the wire is.

    ‘48 Rear Drums

Re: ‘48 Rear Drums I don't get it either. With shipping, just two drums will be close to $300. It's crazy how much more some things cost. I do need rear drums though and am going to get the Boling Bros. drums. It's pretty clear that they're a quality product and I agree that the brakes are...

    ‘48 Rear Drums

Re: ‘48 Rear Drums Here is the diagram I used from the manual. I obviously need to pay closer attention. I assumed this was for the left side by the way the squiggly underline is under "***'Y LEFT". However, now that I look at the parking brake hardware and how the brake cable enters the...

    ‘48 Rear Drums

Re: ‘48 Rear Drums I'll have to double check tonight but I'm positive my service manual showed the short lined shoe towards the front? I didn't question it because that's the way the old ones were installed. I really appreciate you pointing that out if you think they're wrong though!
